BYL High Art Gallery: Showcase Your Talent at BYL 420 Fest

We’re thrilled to introduce the BYL High Art Gallery, a unique space dedicated to local artists to display and sell their artwork at the BYL 420 Music & Arts Festival. This is an exciting opportunity for creators to showcase their work to a vibrant audience of over 3000 festival goers. While cannabis-inspired pieces are welcome, we encourage a diverse range of artwork all mediums and themes are encouraged! What’s in it for you? The BYL High Art Gallery is designed to celebrate and elevate local talent, offering a platform for artists to gain exposure and connect with like-minded individuals. Artists can submit 1 to 2 pieces for display and have the chance to sell them on the spot. We’ll handle the sales and promotions, taking only a 15% commission, which is reinvested in supporting the arts community. Giving Back We’re passionate about supporting the next generation of artists. That’s why 2.5% of every sale (from our commission) will be donated to a local youth art program, empowering young creatives and fostering a culture of art and expression.

How It Works:

Submit 1 to 2 pieces of artwork for display.
Artwork must include the artist’s name and price
We’ll showcase and sell your art for you, taking a 15% commission.
2.5% from each sale will be donated to a local youth art program.
Submission Deadline: March 31, 2025
After submission, selected artists will be contacted with a formal agreement and payment details.

BYL 420 is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of music, art, cannabis culture, and
creative expression. Our lineup will feature a diverse line up of alternative rock, hip-hop, R&B,
reggae, cover bands, DJs, and more, including performances from local talent, special guests,
major headliners, special tributes, and tons of unforgettable moments.
Open Talent Submissions
Think you’ve got what it takes to perform on the BYL stage? There are two ways to secure a
spot:
✅ Free Performance Slots – Available for selected artists ONLY who will in exchange
collaborate with us on early promo and marketing. These artists will receive a featured time slot
and festival promotion.
✅ Donation-Based Slots – Want to guarantee your spot? A limited number of paid performance
slots are available, with prime-time slots near headliners at premium pricing. More details on big
headliners and specials guests will be announced soon when the official website launches.
Note: We Welcome All Talents Whether you’re a singer, rapper, dancer, comedian, poet,
magician, or any other type of performer, if your act aligns with the festival’s vibe, we want to
see it.

BYL Blunt Rolling Competition Rules

The BYL Blunt Rolling Competition will test speed, precision, and smokability to determine the ultimate blunt-rolling champion. Do you have what it takes to be crowned the BYL Blunt Rolling King?

Entry Details

Entry Fee: $10 per competitor.
Eligibility: Must be a festival attendee.
Materials: Competitors will receive rolling papers/wraps and tips from sponsor (optional).
Blunt Wraps: Standard wraps (provided) must be used—no personal wraps or papers allowed.
Cannabis: Each participant will receive cannabis supplied by the sponsor for the competition, containing less than 0.3% THC in compliance with legal limits.

Competition Format & Rules

The competition consists of three rounds:

Round 1: The Rolling Stage (Not Judged)

Each contestant will receive a numbered bag with the necessary materials.
Contestants will have 10 minutes to roll their blunt using only the provided supplies. Once finished, contestants will:

Place their blunt inside their numbered bag.
Stop their provided timer and place it in the bag.
Turn in their bag and timer to the judges.

The recorded rolling time will not be judged but will be used as a tiebreaker in the final round.
No pre-rolling—blunts must be rolled entirely on-site and by hand.
Use of rolling machines or external tools (e.g., dollar bills) is prohibited.

Round 2: The Selection Stage

10 judges will inspect all submitted blunts and each choose one blunt to advance.
Selection criteria (scored 1–10):

Appearance: Is the blunt visually appealing, even, and clean?
Consistency: Is the blunt packed evenly, with no lumps or loose spots?
Ends: Are the ends sealed properly to prevent loose cannabis or poor airflow?
Feel/Density: Is the blunt firm and packed well?

The Top 10 blunt rollers will advance to the final round and receive:

An exclusive BYL shirt
Special gifts
A short presentation on stage

Round 3: The Smokability Test (Main Stage)

The Top 10 blunts will be coded and distributed among the judges for a live smoking evaluation.
Each judge will receive a random blunt, light it, take two hits, record their results, and pass it to the next judge.
The process will continue until every judge has sampled all blunts. Judging Criteria (Scored 1–10):

Lighting: Does it light easily?
Draw: Is the airflow smooth, with no clogs or excessive resistance?
Burn: Does the blunt burn evenly without runs or flaring?

After all results are recorded, the judges will determine the BYL Blunt Rolling King!

BYL Homegrown & Homemade Competition

Presented by BYL 420 Music and Arts Festival 2025

Think you’ve got the best homegrown cannabis or the tastiest homemade edibles? Enter the BYL Homegrown & Homemade Competition and put your skills to the test! This exciting contest is your chance to showcase your craftsmanship, compete for amazing prizes, and earn bragging rights at the first-ever BYL Festival!

Competition Categories

Homegrown Flower 🌿

Entries will be judged based on:

Appearance – Trim quality, color, trichome development, density, and overall visual appeal.
Potency – Measured using Purpl Pro mobile testers for THC/CBD content.
Aroma & Flavor – Evaluated by the panel for terpene profile and smoothness.

Homemade Edibles 🍪

Entries will be judged based on:

Taste & Texture – Overall flavor, consistency, and mouthfeel.
Presentation – Creativity and visual appeal of the edible.
Effect & Potency – Strength and balance of the effects (judged by the panel).

People’s Choice Award – Festival attendees will vote for their favorite edible!

A select group of 10-15 festival goers (who sign up in advance) will sample edible entries and vote for the winner.

Rules & Entry Guidelines

Eligibility:

Must be 21+ to enter.
Entries must be homemade, no commercially produced products allowed.
Participants must be festival ticket holders.

Submission Rules:

🌿 Homegrown Flower Entries

Submit 3.5 grams of cured cannabis in a clear, labeled container.
Label must include strain name.

🍪 Homemade Edible Entries

Submit seven (7) individual servings for the panel of judges.
For People’s Choice voting, provide 10-15 additional sample-sized portions for festivalgoers to taste and vote.
No infused beverages allowed.
Label must include flavor/type of the edible (e.g., chocolate brownie, fruit gummy, etc.).

Judging Process

A panel of seven judges will evaluate all entries based on the competition criteria.
Flower potency will be tested using Purpl Pro mobile testing.
Edibles will be sampled and scored by the judging panel.
People’s Choice voting:
10-15 festival attendees who sign up in advance will sample and vote for their favorite edible.
Their votes will determine the People’s Choice Award winner.

How It Works:
• Entry Fee: $10 donation per round
• Take your shot at a 5-ball rack at your chosen location beyond the 3pt line.
• Shoot all 5 basketballs and win prizes based on how many you make!

Prizes:
• 1 out of 5: No prize (try again!)
• 2 out of 5: 1 gram of top-shelf flower
• 3 out of 5: 2-gram pre-roll + a 500mg edible
• 4 out of 5: 3.5 grams of premium top-shelf flower*
• 5 out of 5: 7 grams of premium top-shelf flower*
*NOTE: A maximum of 3 wins per person is allowed for tiers 4 and 5 (4 out of 5 and 5 out of 5

Rules:
1. Players must pay the $10 entry fee before each round.
2. Each round consists of 5 basketball shots.
3. Shots must be taken from the designated spot beyond the 3pt shooting line
(shots made on or inside the line will not count)
4. No re-dos or additional attempts during a single round.

THE BYL WEEDSTER EGG HUNT

The BYL Weedster Egg Hunt

Celebrate 4/20 with a playful twist at the Weedster Egg Hunt! Set in the lush “Trees” of our beautiful estate venue, this fast-paced scavenger hunt is packed with surprises and good vibes.

Event Details:

Entry: $25 participation fee.
Participants: Limited to 100
Date & Time: 4/20 at 3:00 PM
Time Limit: 30 minutes

What You’re Hunting For: Over 700 Weedster Eggs filled with 420-inspired gifts and prizes

Participants will meet at a designated check-in point before entering the Secret Stash Location, where the hunt begins. Whether you’re solo or with friends, you’ll have 30 minutes to search high and low for hidden eggs filled with fun and festive 4/20-themed surprises.

This lighthearted, community-driven event is all about celebrating the culture, connecting with others, and enjoying the moment.

First Annual BYL “Catch A Vibe” Fishing Tournament

Catch a Vibe and Reel High

Join us for a one-of-a-kind fishing experience that blends the peacefulness of angling with the good vibes of the BYL 420 Music & Arts Festival. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or casting a line for the first time, this laid-back yet competitive tournament is your chance to relax, connect, and have a reel good time.

Tournament Details

Dates: April 19–20, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Oberlin, OH
Entry Fee: $20 per participant
Participation Includes: Fishing pole with bobber, hook, bait, a chair, and a bucket (no personal fishing gear permitted)

Please Note:

All fishing tournament participants must also hold a valid General Admission or VIP ticket to the BYL 420 Festival. No activity access without festival entry.

How to Register

Festival admission and tournament registration can be purchased through both official ticket platforms or on-site at the festival (if space allows). Tournament capacity is limited—secure your spot early!

Tournament Format

Start Time: 10:00 AM
General Festival Entry: Opens at 12:00 PM

(If you join the tournament after 12 PM, you will have only the remaining time to participate.)

Duration: 4-hour catch-and-release round
Goal: Catch as many fish as possible within the timeframe
Catch Handling: All fish are gently returned to the lake after being recorded by staff
